Miguel's test details: (Notes courtesy of Caroline, 3/15/06)
He came to class last night and unfortunately he did not pass his citizenship test. He said some of the questions were hard and that it was hard to understand the person administering the test (he said she was a Chinese woman with an accent) but he didn’t elaborate on much else. He has his re-test on May 2nd (or right around that date). I told him that the teachers would be willing to stay late and help him anytime he is interested, and just to let us know.

Miguel has his re-test on May 12. He said he was in an out in less than 10 minutes. My impression is that he didn't even get to take the English or civics tests, because he couldn't speak well enough and couldn't understand the examiner. He hasn't brought in his letter saying what parts of the test he failed, so I don't know exactly what he'll be asked during his re-test. All things considered, though, he seems in excellent spirits! (Jodi, 3/20/06)

Guadalupe's situation:
As of 3/8/06
He passed the English and citizenship tests, but immigration needs a few more papers from him before they can make a decision. He'll keep us updated.

4/10/06
He sent in the papers immigration needed. Now he is waiting to hear back.

Alicia's test details:
4/24/06
Alicia went back to hand in papers today. She will be called soon to take her oath!

3/24/06
Alicia went back to immigration today to speak in English. She passed the speaking test, which she said was just some questions from the application, but they still need a few papers from her. She will be going back on April 24 to hand in the papers and take her oath!

1/23/06
She passed everything (including the English reading/writing test). But, at the end of the interview, the examiner told her she didn't speak English well enough. She has to go back to talk for a few minutes in English with an examiner.

Aida's test details: Aida passed the history and government test, but she failed the English section because of the dictations.
